Tige boat with marine diesel engine

MarineDiesel repowers their first Tigé boat. The boat of choice was the 21i ski series. The boat was ordered by the Japanese Tige dealer. They opted to go with the MD250 Stingray with the Velvet Drive 5000A 1:1 transmission. The installation was very straight forward. The engine mounts were in the same location as they would be for the GM gas engine. The boat is typically powered by a 340hp 5.7L EFI gas engine. The 5.7L gas engine cruises the boat at 29 mph at 3000 RPM and a top speed of 42 mph at 4550 RPM. The MD250 cruises the at 37 mph at 3000 RPM and a top speed of 42 mph at 3600 RPM.
