Engine Selection Guide

Supercharging

MarineDiesel installs a 300 Hp Hammerhead Supercharged V8 "Drop In" marine diesel engine into a 1990 Chris Craft 262 Boat model. The boat was originally equipped with a 7.4 Mercruiser and Bravo 3 sterndrive.
It was decided that for this particular repower project that Mercruiser's Bravo 2 sterndrive would be utilized versus the standard Bravo 3 that came on the boat. The Bravo 2 offers customers the increased overall propeller surface area along with a larger lower gear case for durability. The 500+ Lb-Ft of torque can be very harsh on twin propeller sterndrives due to the reduction of propeller slippage versus standard single propeller sterndrives. There are numerous existing boats that fit into the particular size and weight classification similar to this Chris Craft. MarineDiesel's ability to "Directly Fit" where an existing gas engine was installed allows the boat owner a tremendous advantage when deciding whether to purchase a new boat or increase the value of his existing boat by repowering with diesel.  The performance data for this Chris Craft is listed below.
