MarineDiesel installs their Barracuda 200 RPM "Drop In" marine diesel engine model into Chaparral's SSi 215 boat model. MarineDiesel's compact package allows a diesel product that packages a full 6.5l's of displacement into a very compact engine compartment. With most of these boats being developed for the standard gas engine options, inline diesel products simply will not package as well as the MarineDiesel. Factor in the fact that the MarineDiesel has the same mounting footprint as the standard gas engines along with the additional torque available in MarineDiesel's compact package and it's no wonder the MarineDiesel alternative is taking shape. This particular installation is one of 7 new Chaparral installations to take place over the next few months as MarineDiesel continues it's direction of establishing new OEM boat customers.
